Ken has been married to the former Dawn Welch from Pontotoc, Mississippi, for 40 years. They’ve lived at 123 Greenridge Drive for 18 of those years. They have 2 boys, Austin, 34, an engineer in Birmingham, Alabama and Evan, 38, a teacher at Jackson Academy, and a daughter-in-law, Austin's wife, Charlotte. They have one grandchild, Fletcher. He's 2 years old. Charlotte is pregnant with another boy, so they're very excited about that! Dawn and Ken met at Ole Miss as students and they've been together ever since! Dawn retired from teaching school at St. Andrew's Episcopal School about 15 years ago and has been at Faces PLLC in Ridgeland for about 8 years. Ken worked as a geologist in the state of Mississippi for about 40 years. He was certified as a Registered Professional Geologist about 30 years ago. Ken started his career in state government in 1984, retired in 2010 and then went into the private sector about 15 years ago. He’s currently with Hammett Gravel Company and has been there since 2015. He’s excited about the possibility of retiring in the next couple of years. He loves living here at Whisper Lake and that's why he wanted to be on the board, hopefully so he could make living here better for everyone!
